My Tuscan S is too loud to pass its for French registration. It's de-catted and has straight through Carbon cans. Sounds fine to me. So Cats back in, does anyone have a set of "normal" cans they want to sell or rent out. Once passed it'll be going back to it's current spec.

Anyone any other ideas about reducing the exhaust noise, I've been told I have to get it to 77db at running speed, so that could be between 55 to 75 mph.

Cheers

I'd be amazed if you can get down to 77dB. I've got cats in and CCC's and it's running at around 110dB. From memory with standard cans on I just make it through the 105dB limit imposed on certain track days.

You could try putting a thick sock over the top of the dB meter wink sorry but I can't see how else you're going to get it quiet enough

You could have a word with Tim at ACT to see if he can make you some silencers...just an idea!

With your cans on I was bang on the 105db limit, but still got flagged on the track throughout the day! Maybe buy a Prius?

That's not such a bad suggestion.

You could get friendly with an MOT guy and get him to record the dB of a Citroen Picasso and pass it off as your Tuscan. I've heard of this sort of think happenning over here for de-cats to pas the emissions test, and it might be your only option

77 db??? One of the other consultants here at the bank hits (iPhone measured, sp pretty accurate) 85 dB while talking on the phone.

If you do get your silencers below 77dB, can I use them while you don't have to MOT the car to shut her? biggrin
