http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/2532303.htm

For me a great colour combo and am thinking of entering a bid.

The trouble is I cannot get back to the UK to view before the auction.

Blind bidding on a 8 year old 37k Tuscan. Hmmmmmmm, that may not end well!

Have left a message asking for full service info etc, but no answer as yet.

Cheers

this isn't the most useful post from me but...it was for sale around sept last year, I thought it had sold as I tried to buy it but the vendor was poor at emails and didn't return calls, as soon as I started asking q's it was pulled off ebay. It reappeared a few months later and then disappeared again quickly. Was IIRC around the £15K mark. Have wondered a few times since why it kept doing a cheshire cat on me?

claims one owner though so???

ETA
this wasn't the first ebay ad I saw for it

here is a thread from sept 2010

I'm sure if the car had a full service history the ad would mention it. Having said that even if it has, that is no guarantee of a viable/healthy engine. Having recently forked out 6k+ for a rebuild on an early Tuscan I would advise only go with it if you can get it for a song and then budget for a possible big bill soon. Great colour and interior though.

Thanks,

Useful info.

I'll wait on Coys for a reply on the history.

If I bid it will be low given it hasn't sold for so long I'd guess a rebuild is imminent, makes me think the original dealer couldn't get the car straight for warranty before sale.

I just went and had a look at this as I was tempted to have bid. Looks like it has been sat around for sometime as it has quite a lot of rust on the wheels and discs. Also looks like the driver side has had some water damage and the window won't shut all the way... Unfortunately they wouldn't let me start it up so I can't tell you how it sounds....

Not that it will probably help much but the original advert link was by a garage in London W14 called Deutsche Marques. http://www.deutschemarques.co.uk

They may be able to shed some light if you call them .....

Ahhhh.. I thought it looked familiar, was for sale when I was looking for one. It was for sale for ages, it was advertised in at least two garages. I made enquiries about it but never got a reply to my questions. It didn't feel right to me.

I've had no response to service history question.

That says enough for me.

The auction is today and i have a very low bid in, that if it goes for that has plenty of scope for a rebuild and to sort any issues and still come in under the average S in the classifieds.

Will see.

Although I doubt mine will see it sold.

Someone wanted it. It sold for £12.5k + 15% auctioneer's premium + VAT on that premium = £14,750 total.

Not too bad I guess as long as your not too concerned about the lack of service history. Enough change to re-leather the interior - it was rather nasty!

Thats an interesting benchmark for Tuscan prices. Anecdotally I wonder if they have been increasing over the last 12 months. There is usually a slight hike in spring/summer but I suspect values are on the up. If TVR make their much vaunted comeback in 2012 it will be interesting to see the effect this has on the second hand market. Equally I wonder if increased confidence in the Speed 6 engine may have something to do with it, now most cars have been rebuilt or racked up higher miles on original units?
