OK, after a month in denial I've decided it's time to accept that I do have (oil smelling) smoke coming out of the nearside exhaust when I start the engine up.

I'm guessing valve guide wear. The engine's done 12,000 miles since the last rebuild, has a full TVR service history, but I bought it privately. So...

1. What does anyone reckon the chances are of getting TVR to sort this for me without too much hassle (or cost), given that it's clearly not lasted the "expected life" of an engine (assuming it weren't an S6 engine )
2. Has anybody ever had any luck putting this through on their warranty? (3rd party one from Warranty Works)
3. Has anybody got an idea on the cost should either of the above fail?

[Edited to add]: Thanks in advance for the help!
