Suggestion for some Polls Ted could set up
Discussion
I found the information TUS 373 posted about tuscan engines that he was told at the factory very interesting. Don't quite understand why Ted closed it, but there you go.
That is one side though. The factory side. It may be correct, it may not be. I agree that people tend to post problems rather than 'my tuscan has never blown up' posts and it could be skewing the view somewhat for new owners like me looking though the forum.
So, what I reckon would be good is a sticky post with 10 polls that we leave open for a month or so:
Polls for ALL owners of tuscans:
2000 car, finger followers gone/not gone
2001 car, finger followers gone/not gone
2002 car, finger followers gone/not gone
2003 car, finger followers gone/not gone
2004 car, finger followers gone/not gone
Polls for owners of tuscans that have not
needed FF rebuild:
2000 car, non FF related rebuilt done/not done
2001 car, non FF related rebuilt done/not done
2002 car, non FF related rebuilt done/not done
2003 car, non FF related rebuilt done/not done
2004 car, non FF related rebuilt done/not done
what do you think ? ted ?

put to bed. no.
But for folk thinking of buying one like I was, it would provide valuable stats that were a bit more balanced than looking through past postings for 'finger followers'.. since you just (perhaps unfairly) get the feeling that they are blowing up left right and centre. They are the sorts of stats that could later be incorporated into a faq.

Ted closed my post at my own request to keep it short, sharp, honest and sweet.
I think we would all like to see the statistics but there are pitfalls in collecting them so they represent a fair and honest view. Only the factory has the full picture of events, but as I was told, they have not changed the design of the engine as they consider it is a good unit with 600 bhp+ potential from supercharging and is of course their chosen platform. However, there have been build/component problems as we know. I'd be happy if people email me details of what has happened, why, when and what the resoltion was but I fear this is probably going overground already covered by the ToG as mentioned above.
