My radiator is leaking quite badly, it is the original type with the plastic ends, does anyone have any suggestions as to the best solution. The new all aluminium ones seen quite expensive and i'm wondering if they are worth the money, also if anyone knows of a re core service near Reading that would be helpful. Many thanks, Rich

I would get it re-cored far cheaper than an Ali one and does the job perfectly. There will be an radiator repair shop near you try google or yellow pages. I think my re-core cost about £120 and it has been fine. You could change the water hoses to silicon(blue/red etc) and get stainless water pipes from ACT while you are doing the radiator and still have change from what you would spend on an Aluminium one!! The standard radiator is fine just get a Re-core.

I sourced a copper and brass replacement from a place called Northern Radiators in Leeds for 250 quid plus vat about 18 months ago. My original was alloy as I have an early car and the replacement is slightly heavier but no different efficiency wise.
