Hi guys,

I am wondering what is the top speed in each ger of the standard 4.0l Tuscan? I have never got the dash lights to flash red at me so i'm probably short shifting but wanted to be sure.

Anybody know what each gear tops out at?

Cheers,
Dave (Tuscan Mk1 Owner)

The in gear speeds for all the standard and CR box with the various differential ratios can be seen here:-

Well the rev limiter should cut in between 7300-7400 rpm.

Now go away and stop being a wimp! wink

I think you're right. Only reason I was asking is that I saw fifth gear go on about the Tuscan S and they were quoting that it goes 100mhp in 2nd!

Mine seems a long way off from that. I know it's not the S but I thought it'd be somewhere near the S gearing.

I'll go and hit the limiter and find out biggrin

Ah yes, the Tuscan S has the close ratio gearbox and gears 1-3 are slightly higher, but closer together than the standard box.

It will do about 65 in first, and just over 100 in second. Hence the blistering 3.7s to 60 and 8s to 100 times.

Interesting.
My Chimaera has recorded a 0-60 i 3.63 and the 1/8 mile in 7.59 @ 98 so comparable.

Very good.....that's what a failed/dodgy speedo transducer can do. A Tuscan (S or otherwise) will not do a true 200 mph. From the calculator posted earlier the engine would have to be doing 7.5k-8.5k rpm depending on final drive ratio.
