Door Release cables

As per a previous post, some previous owner (aka a possible muppet!) has removed the emergency door release cables. This strikes me as a bad idea!

I am trying to get my head around how these were originally routed, as I want to install new ones without major interior surgery!

Any detailed description or photos would be really useful
