Right, the boots open, now what?
Discussion
what is it with you
do you have 2 left hands ?
so you have the boot open
unscrew the badge and have a look if there's a problem
perhaps it needs adjustment.
when you have the badge off and you can push the button without hearing the lock you'll have to look further (sellunoid ?)
if you hear the lock working but it doesnt release enough it needs adjusting
if you hear the lock but it doesnt work with the badge on you'll have to adjust that.
there are to many reasons why it wont work
perhaps it's as easy as pushing the little button next to youre steering wheel (immobiliser)

If you need a solenoid, Maplins do them for about 8 quid.
Do you know what is the exact part number? Sorry of this is a stupid question, but I am no expert with these things..!

Make sure you get the two wire version. To fit it's a case of swapping the mounting frame across and then connecting the wires the right way round. I soldered them to the existing plug but you could use a terminal block or crimp on spades/bullets etc.
