I've read before that TVR didn't clean the welds properly before coating the chassis and it definitely looked like a lot of the worst rust on mine was around the joints.

You're right, it is a rust trap along with the battery tray on the other side.

You have to conclude they went straight to powder coat after only a minimal clean up and possibly standing outside I've read before that TVR didn't clean the welds properly before coating the chassis and it definitely looked like a lot of the worst rust on mine was around the joints.
After all the welding on mine was complete I had it sand blasted then re coated within a couple of days.
Every joint had been wiped clean by the blasting so our chassis should fair better than the factory ones.
