with the bits and pieces that came with it is a right angle of scaffold tube with a hole drilled at one end and a wheel stud plate at the other is this a samuri spare holder or not? wheres the spare supposed to be kept? looked at pic of tech secs panther no spare sticking 2 feet in the air [as this bar would do] cant see anywhere it would fit either.

Hi Dave

Sammies were never made to carry a spare so far as Jago made it. Why we do not know. I have had some folks join the club saying on their item of interest for their Sammie "spare wheel carrier" which would have to have been a self made or bespoked item for them as Jago's did not do anything for a spare.
The thing is in all my years in the club no one with the spare carrier was at any of the shows I went to so no wiser as to where they put it.
I just have one of the anti puncture treatments in the wheels so that hopefully if anything does try to put a hole in the tyre it self seals.
To date I have either not had anything go into the tyres or the stuff works.

The only place a wheel could go is in the boot but it is a squeeze to get it in there due to the size of the boot opening (I have tried with a standard 6Jx14 weller with 205/70x14 tyre and could not get it in). Would probably just go in if deflated but then that is the boot space nearly full.
Thats why I went down the puncture sealer road which like I say I have either been lucky and not had any punctures or the stuff has worked.
Will try to take some pictures and put them on the tech site.

hmmmm so the 8.5 x 15 spare wheel isnt much use then [it came with 5 newish wellers holey ones not 8 spokes] i may take the tow hook off to see if theres a "tube" it fits in under there also came with 3 8.5 x 15 8 spokes and what appears to be a 5 x 15 8 spoke [maybe 15 s on the rear of the jeep???] very useful to know its a nonstandard bar though thanks!!

Sounds as if those 15"-ers are going on the jeep then...
