Well done
Anyone know if there is a risk free (as in keeping the registration if the check fails!) check which will confirm if the vehicle did ever pass SVA
On checking my V5, Yellow peril is shown as Jago Ford Escort and historic vehicle!

The fact the V5 says Jago Ford Escort means possible problems.
In reality with out shed loads of work and the money to do so I do not think a Jago would be likely to pass an SVA test.

Im not sure on this one, because it states Jago in the Document prooves its been notified as a Kit Car, end of the day the people who are gonna care are the Police when you get pulled over and checked !

Its on the documents as a Jago Ford Escort, i think they would be kool with this ! But thats only personal views on it ! As long as engine is kool etc ... i'd leave it as is

Jago V5C.On my Doc.the D.1 make reads Ford. The D.2 Model type anglia. This seems understandable as i'm aware early kits with the star on bonnet were based on ford anglia running gear, but it goes on to discribe it as a convertable historic vehicle. Nowhere does it mention it being a Jago.
It's mot'd as a Jago and insured as a Jago Geep 1298 Ford Anglia.Doesn't sound right to me.Shouldn't all the paperwork read the same?Any advice welcome.Me brain hurts.

As long as the engine size is the same i wouldn't bother getting involved with the hole DVLA thing, we wanted to register it as a Jago because on the documents it said it was a 1.3 but the engine in it was a 2.0 !

As soon as you tell the DVLA that it's not been registerd as a Kit Car, they will take away your documents and not be able to drive, or sell on the car.. So that means you gotta try and get the documents back, this took my dad along time todo ... and lots of hasle ! luckly they let him off (its more of how the bloke at the DVLA testing station is feeling on the day when they inspect the car)

Anyway if they won't allow ya to just change the documents then it would prob need a SVA, and would never pass an SVA test ..

Thats my views on it tho ...

Checked out yellow peril and DCLA have told me that the fact that it states Jago on the documents and that it has retained the historic status means that everything is ok - the age of the donor would have been confirmed when the documents were amended to show Jago ford escort.
But I have come across another problem not totally unrelated. I have now got the V5 for my Spartan, correctly stating Spartan, (pile of bits in my garden) date of registration 1975, taxation class PLG (not historic) but it carries a 70/71 age related registration - v5 states "declared manufactured 1971" which of course relates to the accident damaged donor Herald - so are they (DVLA) incorrect in classifying it as PLG and not Historic?
