Hi Boys
Can anyone help? My Jago is open and does not have any sun visors. During the sunny days,I have bother with the sun coming in over the windscreen as well as through it. Do you know if there is a weather proof sun visor on the market that will rotate up as well as down. You used to be able to buy transparent hinged
ones. Or, has anyone solved this in their own way
Thank you

A quick look in the Europa Specialist Spares catalogue I noticed blue/smoke/green polycarbon sunvisors, trouble is there for the Cobra so they ain't cheap, but they have got chrome on brass friction hinges. My catalogue is yr 2000 and they were priced at £55.12+VAT all that time ago - must be a cheaper alternative
Cheers

Isn't that what baseball caps are for?

'might need a bit of ingenuity, but Motorworld sell Sunshield clip on visors for £3.99 each, might have to put money where my mouth is and buy some myself as I've just thought I'll need some myself once the Jeep's on the road.If you go down the baseball cap route use plenty of glue as they tend to fly off at 40mph much to the amusment nearby pedestrians and the annoyance of the following driver three cars behind.
Cheers

Hi again
Thank you Gerrydoe - I will go along that route.
Although I say weatherproof I tend not to go out in the rain so ordinary ones from the scrappie could be renewed easily if they did get wet!
I do wear baseball caps normally, Boldfish, but it's the low sun at this time of year and anyway I prefer a "Thinsulate".

How about the ones from a mini bus or the like as they usually have a long frame that allows them to pivot both ways. On Dragon we used standard ones from a euro box (making sure they were the ones that can swivel) and then used a wood block to accomodate the spindle of the rotating mount. The whole lot was then screwed to the metal frame that sits on the top of the windscreen frame (the one the hood attaches to) and we had very few problems with sun in the eyes whether from the front or side, Must get and do them on Geoffrey so we dont need a welders mask to drive around in on a sunny day.

Hi Logi
Plan C:- make your own using cannibalised fittings and a few aluminimum or stainless saddle brackets with some smoked polycarbonate sheet. I've got some you could experiment with if you want- off hand I think it is about 6mm thick, it is tough and easy to work and if it picks up a few scratches it wouldn't be a problem.
All the best
Mike

Thanks Mike
I had wondered about one long one covering both sides.
I also thought about screwing something, as you have described, to the triangular frame on top of the windscreen. Bear in mind I don't have need for a roof.
This would be a wind deflector come overhead sun visor but I would still need normal visors - or the baseball cap
