master cylinder on jago
Discussion
Hi
I had the very same problem when I first bought my GP. We went on Ebay and bought a brand new, old stock. Ford master cylinder which looked exactly the same.( I think it was Capri or poss. Sierra ) I am not technical but I think my mechanic friend used the old shorter pushrod. It is fine.
Also - read the article " suppliers of Escort parts" which is next to this one on the forum.
Cheers

My local motor factors has a very detailed book, and it looks like the master cylinder is the same as the servo'd one but not fitted to the servo. (may need pushrod changing) I will be changing mine but haven't done so yet so I can't be 100% sure.
Go for the 19mm (3/4") bore or smaller, if you go bigger you will have to push harder on the pedal for the same braking effort at the wheels and vice-versa.
If the motor factor doesn't understand the question then try another factor. Don't bother with main dealers, they don't have the info any more unless they are very unusual.
It'll cost about £100 though.

Try www.brakeparts.co.uk for bits. Mk1 master cylinder kit was £6.16
