New Jeeps and old. How many do YOU want?
Discussion
While multiple Jago ownership is 'de rigeur';) thought I'd contribute!
Have posted a pic of our latest Jago on yahoo forum in "Lakeland Jagos" file no 16. This was the car we thought we would break- 2 litre Pinto, 7" Weller rims, new style top, escort dash, new floor etc but (once again!!) have decided that this is the one we will definitely keep (5th time lucky??) :) :) :)
Although the body is good and in a desirable shade of RED it needs a fair bit of work to get it into tip top condition.
After much thought and discusion we have decided to reduce our fleet of spare vehicles, though not in a desperate rush, so that we can concentrate on the above project without too many other distractions. The vehicles for sale are as follows, both correctly registered:
1)NPX
1600cc pinto, 4 speed, old style hard top and hard doors, (Watertight- luxury!) swing away spare wheel , good floor, Metro GT seats, side steps with 1/4" ali treadplate, side exhaust, roof rack (for fitting those rabbiting lights!) big mudflaps at back to hide cart springs, tow bar.
This is the vehicle featured in the advert from Jago with the large double page colour pic. ( Colour version of this available if a decent offer for vehicle is forthcoming!!) Factory built with complete history, including every MOT.
We have a strut to brace the windscreen for when the top is off but this is not fited yet, exhaust blowing a bit and previous owner has fitted a Renault dashboard. We planned to make a new one and have some beautiful sparkling RED ( of course:) ) ABS for the job and a roll of water resistant grey Volvo carpet. All undersealed and chassis painted. Most of the electrics work and there is a relay fitted for some spotlamps. Car drives and stops and has good tyres on 14" Wellers including one brand new one :)
2) The Famous Union Jack
Again another vehicle we were going to keep for ever. 1800cc pinto, 5 speed box, soft top in good shape, soft dors with sliding windows, stainless windscreen brace, Transit seats, 14" Wellers, swing away spare holder, big mudflaps, replaced floor, 2 Super oscars, Jago side steps with strip of curved treadplate on top. Escort dash, tub strengthened with box section under lip, tow bar with 2 sockets. All undersealed and chassis painted. Recently retrimmed with waterproof blue carpet, heater installed. We planned to make a console unit to cover heater and have some black ABs ready for the purpose.
Car was originally RED but now has the associated blue and white bits to give the car that total all over unique Union Jack paint job as loved by... errr.....Austin Powers and.... err
Unless you are:
a ) an attention seeker/ poser/ comedian who likes to see people smile!
b) a member of the Royal family
c) an avid Ingerland Fotball fan
d) a member of a dodgey political party who we don't want anything whatsoever to do with!
it will need a respray - any colour you want we are not biased, although RED does look rather nice on a Jago. It would be emminently suitable for someone considering the NATO gjeep look in whatever colour scheme.
With time the paint job does grow on you but beyond the colour it is a particularly sound vehicle.
We can send loads of pics to interested persons as we are a bit off the South Coast Jago homelands, open to offers on either car or both if you have got a heavy dose of the Jago bug .

Union Jack now gone south to a new home on the Wirral, you will recognise it when you see it!!
NPX is still here...we might have to start on that dashboard we had planned
The Mini is in for MOT in next few days:- 1989 loadsa new panels,- outer wings, a posts a panels front and rear scuttles - sprayed diamond white, pepperpot style alloys, new tyres on front; rest v. good.
Big bore exhaust, uprated carb + inlet manifold, and discs, alloy rocker cover, K & N filter. New water pump, radio/ cassette, high level brake light, lined boot lid,John Cooper alloy pedals. This belongs (mostly!!) to my 13 year old son who will sell it to:
a) anyone with a suitable wad of cash
b)someone looking for a decent little car that is well sorted- young and old
c)someone wanting a recently painted car to decorate with loads of Mini decals stripes roof logos etc
d)some one entering "Pimp my ride"
