I currently have the clocks mounted in the centre of the car. Is it easy to move them behid the wheel. Is there a special moulding required and if there is does anyone know where I will get one?

If you have got the instruments in the lower centre of the dash then your Jago is an early to mid eighties version.
The problem with trying to move the instruments to behind the steering wheel on these vehicles is the way the windscreen is mounted to the body.
The screen frame saddles the body tub so there is a shelf which usually prevents enough clearance for the instruments to be fitted. The later versions had the windscreen frame butting up against the body tub (different moulds were used to achieve this) so doing away with the shelf effect which was done to move the instruments to behind the steering wheel.
So unless you have got some slim aftermarket dials (if such items are available) your instruments will most likely have to stay where they are.

If your handy with the tools, and i assume you are seeing as you have a jago, you could try getting a later model dash and making it fit.I cut out and fitted the steel dash and clocks from my donor escort .It wasnt easy but it is possible, so i think the glass dash should be a doddle.

Hi
We had a problem where a previous owner had half fitted a Renault 5 dash so we made a new dash by line bending a piece of ABS which had a slight metal flake effect.

We obtained the necessary slim line instrumentation by putting a spare set of Escort 2 clock dials through the bandsaw, we then just cut apertures to fit existing switchgear, and mounted clocks behind using original screws.

The speedo cble was the biggest problem and trial fitting involved cutting another hole in the "shelf" formed where the screen panel meets tub.

For a first shot we though this was reasonably good, lots of scope for improving- if dash was nade as 2 pieces it could be "curved" or bent forward at speedos and a top put over it, with some thin crash padding on top.
Might have a pic of dash in car somewhere but it is too late now!!
