mad moment on ebay
Discussion
Hi, one mad moment on ebay last night and i am going back to being a mini owner!!!!, this means i now have an almost finished blue jago with brand new floor, big wheels, 1600 gt cross flow that runs, some retro paddy hopkirk buckets, decent roof and doors, and most importantly a v5 that states make as jago and is registered on the 14th december 1972, so when you go to the post office for your tax disc it costs you nothing, chassis needs a good rub down and paint but there aren't any holes in it so mr mot can't get too upset, no doubt the brakes need rebuilding, and i have a new half finished fuel tank(all welded up but needs filler neck cut into and fitted, it will be ebayed later, but any rough idea what its worth???? sad to see it go as i love it but foolishly put a low bid on this austin rotten rubbish and truly thought i would be out bid, and i don't like not completing my ebay purchases!!!!!!!!!
shame about getting rid of your Jeep smj, but being an old mini lover from years ago, can't say I blame you. I've ploughed over a grand into my Jeep all told, but what to sell it for...??.....like yours, mine is SorN etc., but no one wants to give anywhere near anything I'm prepared to sell it for so it'll stay in my drive gathering sand from the clay tips and the odd occasional drop of rain we get here from time to time.
I seem to remember seeing a post on the JOC forum that in money terms, there's probably more to gain by scrapping/selling for spares. Mine too is tax exempt, and it would be such a shame to scrap it.....but at the end of the day if money is more important than sentiment.....?
Someone sold a hard top and doors yesterday at Liskeard for £150...if you've got 8x15's like mine with decent rubber, then there's another £150 plus.....engine/gearbox....£? soon mounts up!
If you've been following Jago's on e-bay then you'll probably have a rough idea of what they fetch...just get a bloody hanky out!
Good luck anyway.....perhaps someone else may venture over onto this site and give you a few ideas......
enjoy the mini!
regards

thanks driftwood, shame i didn't stick with it and get it on the road, not looking for a pile of cash for it to be honest, just as long as i get near to what the mini cost me, i will continue to use this forum though, its good to read, plus when the mini develops those bizarre problems only bmc gear can, someone on here will know the answer!!!!, right, where did i put that bypass hose!!!!!!
