Hello,
I was wondering if anyone could tell me the names of the founders of Jago Developments, and did Geoff Jago once live in porchester.

Its just I am intrigued as I know somebody who says they were a co-founder. Just want to confirm there statement

There is a bit of history regards Jago on the Technical site www.joctechnical.org.uk on the "Geep or Sandero" page.
I know Geoff Jago was one of first people to bring street rods into the UK.

I know some of the names of folks who have worked with Geoff through the years.

Yea his name is.Anthony Graylan.

He certainly seems to know his stuff as he was discussing the model t build himself and geoff undertook, and geoff's first foray into chroming!

Theres also a chap i spoke too who owns a garage in Harlow, Essex called Pop Browns who said he worked for Geof in the early days before they brought the samuri out.

I've just found an advert for "The Rodding Scene" copied from an issue of "Custom Car" from about mid 1974 with the names of Geoff Jago and Richard Park at the top. It would have been around that time that I first decided to convert the family 105E Anglia into a jeep (as we were allowed to call them then). The magazine had a two page article about the conversion with a super full page picture of Geoff in a jeep followed by a genuine Willys MB. It was explained that "Real Jeeps can be picked up in this country for anything between £50 for a roughish one to £400 or more for one in really good condition".
The article says to "check things like shockers, brake linings, kingpins, and don't be so impatient to get on the road that you forget to renew them if it proves necessary".
I couldn't find any kingpins so I didn't renew them!!!
I also have the original price list dated 1 January 1974 along with the brief build instructions and the schematic diagram of the chassis and body.
Most interestingly, I have a copy of the order form and cheque for £237.60 (including the 8% VAT) dated 25 March 1975. I'd ordered a rollover bar at £10 but that couldn't be supplied so I got a refund. I didn't order any 15"x7" road wheels at £5 each or a leather rim steering wheel at £6. I did go on to buy a black hood with sidescreens, rollup rear window and frame at £65 but waited until I could drive the completed car (NLH41P in golden yellow) down to Chichester to collect it. Someone took a photo of Geoff at the wheel and commented that he looked like Glenn Ford's dad- a reference to a US TV show in which Glenn Ford played a jeep-driving cop.
If anyone is setting up an archive, I'd be happy to donate copies of what I have.

We were planning on doing an archive/register a few years ago but response was zilch.
May look at retrying the idea again soon.
I suppose it could form a new page on the technical site! It does have the "Geep or Sandero" feature.
