Parc Ferme

New classic car hire club

A new classic car hire/sharing scheme is now up and running. The newly formed Parc Ferme works along the same lines as the well established Classic Car Club.

Parc Ferme is the brainchild of Philip and Sharon Moir. There is a joining fee of £750 and an annual subscription of £2450. This entitles a member to 850 points to lavish on the fleet as he or she sees fit. The more exotic the machine, the more points it commands, but the average member should be rewarded with some 50 days of classic motoring each year. A further £500 per year brings 350 more points.

The fleet will grow with time but, including the Mini and Ferrari, it already comprises nine classics: 3.4 Jaguar MK II; V12 E-Type Roadster; Aston Martin DB6; Pagoda-topped Mercedes 280SL; Nissan Figaro; MG TD and MGB, plus a couple of more modern automotive masterpieces – a Porsche 993 Cabriolet and a Mercedes CLK230 Cabriolet.

Membership of Parc Ferme brings other benefits such as the choice of subscription to one of several lifestyle magazines, membership of the National Trust or Royal Horticultural Society, or a family day out at Brooklands. Picnic hampers, road routes and accommodation recommendations are all available to add to the pleasure of the loans. There will also be a range of bespoke social events during the year, to which members will be invited to bring a Parc Ferme car.

Said Philip Moir, "We are offering a highly personal service. Each car has been selected with the utmost care and is equipped with a leather-bound logbook comprising: the car’s history; brief driving instructions and even a comments section akin to the visitors’ book of a country house hotel ."
