Oooo - you are awful!

Pity the SLK has such an image, the 3.2 supercharged V6 AMG version appeals to me though.

What are you lot on about , its a relativly cheap , very reliable convertible that when it first came out was totally unique , the 3.2 is ok and the AMG version is a fast car ,, jesus talk about narrow minded bigots

Not unique enough to my taste, one would have been too many. Who fancies a 1500kgs hairdrier?

Ehh? how do you come up with that £32k, which part is totally unique? To me it looks very similar to other 2 seater sports tourers. As for performance the M100 Elan was out in 1990 and was cheaper too.

When it first came out, the roof system was totally unique. Of course, since then other manufacturers jumped on the bandwagon and it is now available in various guises from the rather crappy 206CC to the Lexus SC430.

I think it's quite a nice car. I also think Thom should go on an anger management course, or seek help. Were you run over by a Mercedes or something when you were a small child ?

I seem to remember that Alvis cars had a folding steel roof.... correct me if I'm wrong, but just as Benz DID NOT INVENT the car he did not invent the steel roof...
A Samuel(?) Cox patented and DROVE the first combustion engined car in 1826 up Shooters Hill in London and thats 56 years before Benz was born. Benz only did a petrol combustion engine! And when one reads Benz's patent its an absolute copy word for word of Cox's patent except that he mentioned petrol. BY the way for the doubters,,,, see Guinness Book of Records!

About mercs
1)Every single time I had met/known people who drive mercs they have proved to be complete aes
2)IMO mercs are the exact opposite of what a car "should" be: heavy, ugly, big, have neither soul nor class. They are the absolute sucker's mobile.

PS: my experience is based on French drivers' behaviours; maybe French merc drivers' behaviours = English BMW drivers' behaviours...

Thom you are so stupid , i was making a comment that the SLK was unique , i could label all Frenchmen morons based on my limited contact with them , but i do not because i give the rest of your nation the benifit of the doubt , as i have said before you guy generally are very narrow minded re- SLK - Boxter or aything that is not a TVR ,

Marki, unique means that there is/was no other, so the Merc folding roof cannot be unique..... get my drift. If in doubt use the Oxford English Dictionary!

Well, err...yes, absolutely
If like me you were seeing dull SLKs and Boxsters driven by numpties every single day you would certainly think differently
By the way when do you get the Aero 8?
