TATA brings 750 jobs to the UK
Discussion
I know this news is quiet old, but I have read the article again and thought how angry I am that this news went relatively unheard. First of all it is great news. British technology and British jobs, even though owned by an indian group it shows that who owns our companies is less relevant than where the technology and the jobs end up - great news. In and around the same time i believe JLR announced circa 1500 jobs around the NW of England with the new Range Rover Evoque - more great news. If the fools in the governement and the press took a leaf out of the positive communication book and hence creation of the "good feel factor", this could have produced some really good messages for British manufacturing jobs and technology when we needed it, rather than all focus on the loss of the 3500 BAe jobs at the time in a dying industry of defence - then what a better and more confident place Britain would be. Most of us have been involved in team sports and we know the importance that is placed on the team captain and mngt when the heads are down. We focus on what we do well, get all the team focused and go out there and do the best we can - in most cases the best captains get the most out of their teams regardless of the position and win, often turning round horrific starting results. I just wish we could all focus on what we do and have always done so well - manufacturing will come back to this country if we keep on innovating, keep up on business efficiencies - and keep the good results to the fore of everyones minds rather than listening to cretins from the financial and business press run us all down a self fulfilling prephecy of gloom and doom and no doubt economic depression. For those who are sick to the teeth of Robert Peston on BBC4 going on (and no doubt loving the sound of his own crap voice) please focus on the fact that we are a great country, with great innovations and we are respected around the world for that. We punch well above weight and I for one believe it will not be long before we will have strong manufacturing back in this coutry. Mark my words.
Sorry for boring you - just has to get this one off my chest!
