I am surprised PH has not yet picked up on this story from today's Telegraph.

As ever the government wants all our taxes and if we change behavior to reduce the tax burden they will skin us another way. This too, in the same week that pasties, caravans and charitable donations all benefit from U turns, AKA "listening".

I seem to recall some minister saying het coalition was the end of government warfare on the motorist (or some such) - doesn't look like that now.
