Amsterdam (SatireWire.com) — Known for its long-standing opposition to whaling, logging, strip mining, genetically modified food, nuclear power, the chemical industry, wars, corporations, politics, and weapons, the activist group Greenpeace today announced that as of 12:01 this morning, it will just oppose everything.
...

The new directive took effect immediately after midnight, as the famous Greenpeace ship Rainbow Warrior was ordered to oppose the first thing available, which turned out to be Barbados.

"Stupid Barbados. You must be stopped!" yelled wild-eyed Rainbow Warrior captain Niels Sturngen as he drove the bow directly into what turned out to be a beach. "Surrender," Sturngen added.
Poor buggers.. lmao.. will no-one give them a break?

You're right of course Marki - but they do have a habit of setting themselves up as targets and their resident nutters do give them a bad name..

Besides, any public organisation, be they meritable or not are fair game..

nah - just we've done the greanpiece thing to death I think... getting tired of re-covering old ground on here..

If they'd just stop putting a downer on motoring and accept that cars just aren't the big environmental issue that they've been condemned as, then I'd be perfectly happy for them to get on with uncovering environmental abuses - particularly industrial ones which are probably the largest man made contribution to knackering the planet....

But do they actually do any good? I remember when they had that big barney about the oil rig BP (I think it was) wanted to dump at sea, Greenpeace insisted they had to decomission it and cut it up. Even Greenpeace admitted in the end that this made more pollution than the approach BP had originally proposed.

When I visited Auckland a couple of years ago, the locals were annoyed with Greenpeace (to put it mildly) because there was a sunken wreck in the harbour that was leaking all sorts of poisonous stuff, and Greenpeace refused to do anything about it. Which was a shame, because it was a Greenpeace ship.

To be fair it was the French that sunk it, so they should foot the bill.

Should have got the French Secret Service to attach a limpet mine to it
