Slightly out of date, but I've been away.
Regarding the plane crash on the M11. a few days after the event, mrs rumbly opens the door to an Anglia TV crew, and announce they are interviewing residents of Duxford, regarding air safety.

Anglia TV "How do you feel about the plane crash earlier"

Mrs rumbly "I feel sorry for the pilot"

Anglia TV "How do you feel about old aircraft flying over your house"

Mrs Rumbly "They dont fly over my house, they fly over the field over there" (pointing)

Anglia TV "Don't you think its dangerous to have all these old aircraft flying about"

Mrs Rumbly "No, I believe they are all maintained to the Highest standards, and there have been very few incidents in all the years we have lived here"

Anglia TV "thank you"

Mrs rumbly " when will I be on the tele"

Anglia TV "Oh, we havent edited anything yet"

Needless to say, Mrs Rumbly's views were not aired on TV.

If they had "interviewed" the local pro 20mph speed limit brigade, they may have got the answers they required.

Balanced democracy, great innit.

As a great journalist once said: "never let the truth get in the way of a good story".

I like the stupid questions.
"how do you feel after your son was run down by joyriders?"

I must be living in an vacuum - I didn't hear about this.

I'd be more worried about the planes from Cambridge airport pootling all over Cambridge, not to mention the military tin that screams right over my house several times a day.

That said... screw it. Time for a beer.
