And how, exactly, would they enforce that?

More madness.....

Surely the Itallians wouldn't stop a non-cat Ferrari entering the city....

I can just see it - two Italian coppers stood at the side of the road, pull over 250 GTO - "Just checking the car sir - could you give it some revs please sir?"

Watch out Last time someone made a comment about Italians they started getting abusive emails. You'll be on the hitlist before you know it.

Just out of curiosity but what is the f**kin point.

Rome has about 5 times the number of scooters as it does cars. And not one of these has a cat or is anywhere near tune. (and to make things worse most if not all are 2 strokes) so a tiny number of cars will be banned (if they enforce it which I doubt) but hordes of stinking scoots go free. Why? cos if they tried to ban scooters then the whole of Rome would grind to a halt and there would be mass protests. Not that anyone would actually notice as trafic doesn't seem to move around much anyway due to the gridlock...

I' m from Rome, I own a fiat 500 1970 and I move all around the city without problem.
the solution is keeping a paper that certified you're going to vintage cars meeting..
in fact at the moment the crowded street of rome are plenty of non catalysed cars....
We the italians always find a alternative way to this kind of rules

Where did you hear that? I fg hope not. Typical of the sort of thing this POS city would do tho. Right now I'd give anything to be back in Dorset. Living here is the most stupid thing I've ever done.

Like most cars, mine has this little "recirculate" button on the heater controls and the only times I feel the need to use it is when I'm stuck behind some f**king filthy bus pumping all kinds of sh1t into the air and out in the countryside when they've been spraying sh1te on the fields and making the kind of smell my son manages when he has a really top-notch dump into his nappy.

Yeah I think I 'll start making plans. Question is, east or west of Weynouth? Home is east but best is west...

What was the quote I heard recently:

"it takes 70 modern cars to generate the same polution as one routemaster bus"

also

"a modern fiesta generates the same emissions as 11 original fiestas"

Kind a puts the whole thing into perspective then. Shame that people still think that it is the car that is the killer here - but instead it is public transport!!!

Morons.

Cheers,

Paul
