Deronda boosts power, adds Audi

Deronda tie-in with Audi and Cosworth Technology

Deronda, manufacturer of extreme performance road cars, has strengthened its ties with Audi through a supply agreement which will see Cosworth Technology delivering complete powertrain packages.

Deronda's "Type F" product range for 2005 will include Audi factory approved installations of 1.8 litre turbocharged engines and transaxle gearboxes. Power outputs are 200, 250 and 300 bhp, providing 375, 425 and over 500 bhp per tonne.

The current Deronda F400 is replaced by the F350, F425 and F500 with prices starting from £22,975.

You can view the "Type F" on Stand CP1 at the International Autosport Show at the Birmingham NEC on 13 – 15 January 2005.

Hate to sound like an anorak....but don't the wheels have to be enclosed (arches) to be road legal....looks good fun though!

As I recall, there is extra bodywork that encloses the tires, which is easily removeable to allow for open wheel trackdays.

I guess you're basing your judgement on pics

The Deronda is a lot MORE than an Atom. The Atom is just a bunch of structual piping, engine, seats and wheels. The bare essentials.

The Deronda offers a bit more useability, with storage spaces and full weather protection if needed. It means you can drive the Derona on the roads, to the track and round the track.

The car will also have similar ride height to an Elise, so you won't be grounding out everywhere.

The Deronda has also been in development for years, they're not releasing a half finished car, like some manufacturers do.
