Surely it's the right thing to do anyway. Put the shopping on the back seats and the little gits in the boot.

But kids love this shit they think it is great. The panting was probably due to their 23990th sexual experience I mean FFS what are kids renowned for if not a sense of adventure?

Once got 12 people in a vauxhall chevette! 4 on the back seat with 4 sitting on their knees and 1 lying over the top of them 2 in the passenger seat and the driver. I'm suprised it actually moved under its own steam! But it's ok though cos we didn't have any in the boot.

Original Mini, 5 people - 3 in the back were all over 6'2" and 16 stone Got stopped by the police, they made us all get up and the mini popped up a couple of inches at the back with a rather startling creak

7 in a TR7 - 1 on parcel shelf, 2 in passenger seat, 3 in boot (lid open). Ahhh them were t' days. People are so risk averse these days, and our society is suffering because of it....

I really hate to be a miserable git but wasn't there a story in the news a while back about people who attempted to get 4 in the back of a mini. The weight overloaded the axle and the driver lost control on a corner, smashing into a tree and killing 3 of them.

That's what the story said (obviously before Speed Kills) but it might have been the driver who was a complete muppet.

We have all done slightly foolish but amusing things in our youth but the younger members of the list should not be tempted to replicate them.

Late 80's student days, 10 of us in a 70's Datsun SSS, including 2 in the boot. Atempted to race a new Ford Escort. When a hand comes out the window and sticks a flashing blue light on the roof.

Cops pulled us over and were giving out to the 8 of us. Then decided to search the car, when they opened the boot and two more got out they just pissed themselves and sent us on our way.

As expressed previously, the degree of risk-aversion we see today is really life-draining and constricting..

Hey, I maybe miserable but I'm not old!

Having though about it, we had 4 people in a GT6 (2 seats and a parcel shelf) a couple of months ago so I'm not really in a position to comment.

Just seems that overloading a car fringes on numptydom.

Just remembered we had seven in a Merc 190 not a lot but we had stopped in a street outside a bar we were going to. A white van man tooted his horn and shouted abuse.
He quickly shut up when all four doors opened and six guys got out looking at him, you should have seen his face when the 7th climed out of the boot and gave him the finger

8 in a Fiat Panda. Anyone who knows how hilly Bath is will appreciate the difficulty I had doing a hill start on the damp road. The 60+bhp was making the front slip and slide all over the place. Had two police cars behind me en-route and eventually let everyone out in front of another police car, but they didn't even bat an eyelid. Phew!
