What became of the "revolutionary" Zero_Shift `box
Discussion
A while ago there was a lot of hype over a synchroless, as we know it, manual gearbox to go in stock casings, a Borg Warner T5 was mooted as the Guinea pig, and i think TVR had a test mule. They were supposed to give ultra fast shifts, take up less mainshaft length, be applicable to existing RWD gearbox case designs, and would change our lives, both in road and race cars. Race Car Engineering had a brief article on them i think? I believe they promised more info at a later date, but I am sure they cited a time scale ending long before now. AFAIK no more has been published on them. What gives? Cheers.
