Sporting Intent
Peugeot is hinting at some sporting intent with one of its 607 saloons on display in Paris. There are three 607's on their stand, but it's the 607 Pescarolo concept which is of interest to us.
Key differences from the standard exec saloon include an increased surface area for the front skirt the air inlet allowing a bigger engine to breathe more efficiently. The wings have been extended by 25 mm and the body lowered by 25 mm to give the car greater road-holding ability. Together with 19" alloy wheels and separate twin exhaust pipes, the Pescarolo is an imposing sight.
This 607 could be adapted to take the V6 engine as used in the C60 Pescarolo Sport at the 24 hour Le Mans race, and would provide a maximum power output of over 400 bhp. Just a concept...?
Better cooling? Yes.
Better breathing? Nope, I think you'll find this is still restricted by the throttle.
Sorry - I should change my name to Captain Pedantic for early morning posts...
