The car should handle supremely.

Deserved more power. As have all Boxsters.

I would like Porsche to be offering a choice:

Dir Sir want the four seat 911 or the two seat 911 - in the two seater version, sir, we bring the engine forward for superior weight distribution...

Ahh, sir, has youngsters - perhaps he will sacrifice the improved handling for the ability to carry the family on occasion?

etc etc

Is it just me then that's seeing it like this:

Does sir want the best handling Porsche available for less than the price of a 911, or does sir want to pay the extra money to get himself a 911??

Porsche's lazy styling means it looks like ... a Porsche. But if you like them (I do) then this can only be a good thing? Right?

I never know why people fuss about lack of power.

If you really want a car that much, and can afford that kinda car, then surely a quick visit to Ruf for a GT3 spec 3.6 or a new C2 S spec 3.8 engine plonked in a Cayman woulnd't be much of a problem.

They can keep a 0 mile brand new engine too, so surely it wouldn't cost THAT much?

Still rather buy a 993 S or 933 Turbo 4 for the same kinda money as a Cayman though!

I was hoping it would really be a fixed top Boxster - ie you'd get a choice of a 911 in soft or fixed top and a Boxster in choice of soft or fixed top also. For Boxster money of course.... After all the 'cheap' Boxster probably saved Porsche as an independent company so why not try and repeat the trick?

Still, the Cayenne sold so who knows?

Like the styling though....

I can't be the first person to think Porsche haven't thought out the name that thoroughly. How long before someone slips and starts spelling it with a G. It's only an extra penstroke from C.

RS looks interesting. Shame about the rear, the name, also the price.

In a good way - I can see that. But the engine is in the "right" place...not that the 968 wasn't a wonderful car. If the Cayman's RS version lives up to the legend that is the 968CS it will be a damn fine car...

Why does the one in the pic have a TVR Speed Twelve's number plate on it? Or am I missing something?

The Cayman is going to be an awesome piece of kit!

Probably just the right amount of power/weight which is useable in everyday conditions. I would think it would be nigh on perfect and will just about destroy anything from A-B.

Hmm, this "will destroy anything from A to B" claim is bandied about by so many cars these days that I wonder whow there is any room on the road between A and B. Is it an Elise, a Subaru, a Mitsubishi, a Noble or a Cayman. Time to set up the ultimate EVO test and find out where A and B really are.

And if the road between A and B is wet or dry ...........that changes the outcome yet again....
