Based on this little bit of info.. I like it. But is it worth 70 grand?

Pity the body melted under the photographer's lights.

Looking like it could be a winner.

Only judging by the photo, it look well sorted but not too OTT.

If the spec delivers then we could be looking at a true Tiv rival.

For that much money it should have at least 400bhp... supercharger required I think.

That's really spooky....having recently read about Invicta taking over Vickers (I think it was that way round!) I thought to myself...wouldn't it be nice if they made cars again instead of just tanks.

I like it, and wish the company well.

So, one small Safeways car park crack and there's next year's mortgage payments up the swannee then!

Interesting design, but isn't that continuous curve from windscreen to roof to rear windscreen a little bit Audi TT?

More pics and story at the BBC website, BTW.

170mph with 320 bhp? I don't think so.

Nice car, though, and for the spec, not overpriced.

I wish it well, but over the last few years we have seen so many people trying to revive an old name and all have ended up bust or not yet making it. Jensen? Trident (not available OTR yet), Spyker, Lea Francis - I hope this one is not just a pipe-dream! Rich...

In which way do you not think so?

If you mean you think it will go much faster then I agree - 180+ I think.

If you mean there is no way it will do 170mph then I disagree as my M5 weighs 400kg more and only has 340bhp and that still hits 170mph.

I didn't know Chris Marsh and Leigh Adams had it in them to design something other than a variant of a Marcos 1800!
They will succeed if the car is engineered for greater distribution than the home market.
Best of luck to them!

Erm, close, it was Alvis taking over Vickers..... On a vaguely similar theme, I've pondered a few times on whether to buy a Daimler Ferret armoured car for commuting.....apparently you get given LOTS of space by cabbies

Damn fine car. Side vents and roofline a bit DB7 derivative, but as it's in the same class, I shouldn't worry. Pity about the Yank-Tank powerplant, though

What's wrong with a Yank V8 with 32 valves?

Doesn't cost as much as a V8 from Ferrari or BMW?

Doesn't pollute as much as the old Rover V8?

Those yank V8's are what help keep these cars affordable!

Weight doesn't actually limit top speed, only acceleration. The defining parameters are motive power (i.e. power at the wheels) and aerodynamic resistance (skin friction and pressure drag I think) plus rolling resistance.

So, I think you're right m-five in that this car's aerodynamic efficiency looks a lot better than an M5 so with only 20bhp less it should crack 170mph easily.

A Chimaera 500 does around that speed with 320 TVR bhp as well doesn't it?

Are TVR bhp bigger than normal?
