Bugatti Veyron Officially NOT Worlds Fastest Car!!!

Looking at the sunday times driving section this week, I noticed the new Bugatti Veyron. Saw the top speed: 253mph. :shoot:
I was so annoyed that Bugatti had finally completed its mission to get the highest top speed in a road going car...until :bounce:
In the back pages, in the ads there is a section on luxury and supercars which are second hand for sale. There was a Koenigsegg CCR for sale. I thought this was a shame as it had just lost its crown to the Veyron. But...looking at the spec it said
"Top speed of 270mph"
So after all the time spent on the Veyron, Bugatti has failed. I cannnot hide my pleasure from the horrible, ugly Veyron. :biglaugh:
And then there's the price. Am I right in thinking the Koenigsegg is half the price?

That CCR thats for sale has been modified though so it's not straight from the factory speed record although it may be fastest road legal or something
sorry, what i said was wrong. It was actually produced by the factory and has 806 bhp. Impressive. why do konigsegg let the ccr do 270mph when buggati limit the veyron to 252 due to tyres (they say). Surely Buggati could have got a hold of the best tyres.

From Koenigsegg's own press release, and they confirmed that figure when I spoke to them earlier in the year. 395km/h is 245.44mph.
The CCR achieved 387.87km/h (241.01mph) at Nardo in February so there wouldn't be much point in them 'claiming' 240mph, would there?
Trust me, the Koenigsegg has no chance of getting to 270 mph, I know, we used to sell them!
I am quite sure however, that the CCR, with 806 bhp, will top 250 mph. The car only weighs in at 1100 kgs, and is very slippy through the air, so 250 mph is perfectly achievable.
Watch out for it on 5th Gear tonight.

Watched fifthgear last night and THEY say that the fastest car is the Veyron.
HOWEVER, Im keeping my hopes up by saying that Koenigsegg wont stand for this and will bring out an even faster version.
I know this probably wont happen but that is the only thing keeping me from hating the Veyron even more.
By the way, is it just me or does everyone but me have special links with Koenigsegg?!!!
