To get him on murder the court would have to prove that it was planned to kill the victim.

The scrote can admit to wanting to cause harm etc. but that admission still cannot be turned into a murder charge. (IIRC)

Oh I agree. The scrote did not care. This cannot be labelled as an accident. The attack did not 'just happen'. The law needs to try to distinguish between a 'real' accidental death, and death that was the outcome of a vicious attack, burglary, etc. But it still will not be classed as murder unless the definitions are changed.

I am not trying to excuse the scrote.

The case in Wales is different, as obviously witnesses have said the guy drove straight at him, when other options were available.

In the jacker case there was a struggle and the man ended up under the wheels of the car. This scrote did have an option too, he could have had an ounce of intelligence and stop being a toe rag.

The lawyers probably tried to pass it off as a 'robbery gone wrong'. Skillfully glossing over the fact that the robbery was infact wrong thing to do in the first place.

It's laughable that people can get away with this kind of thing - if he wasn't being a t**spot in the first place he wouldn't have had to kill a man only trying to protect his property.

It looks as though we all agree on this but...I get so frustrated at the lack of justice in this country.

I reckon as well that if they catch this "Trophy rapist" that is plaguing the Southeast he will probably get away with being insane or unfit for trial or something equally irrelevant

blood boiling!!!!

Lets see now - one tonne of metal and one human body

Metal goes over body, body gets squished. How can that not be an intent to kill???

Appearances can be deceptive, but from the two piccies I can tell you which of them I'd prefer to have as a neighbour. And it aint the scrote!

I have lived out side of England for 8 years , i really am amazed that today there a 3 cases like this, i have a friend who while dropping his wife at the airport (Liverpool) in his spanking new Range Rover got out to help his wife get the bags out and some scrote jumed in the RR and roared off in it , never to be seen again .

Now it seems like GB has become some sort of wild west theme park , i just find it hard to belive that things have denigrated so much in these 8 years .

Over here this sort of thing is totally unheard of.

Shocking - down right shocking. What is this country coming too? Having checked other threads here, we have people talking about having a £20 (yes 20 quid) Sierra. In fact some motoring programme on TV managed to get a whole load of road legal cars for less than £300... (driven I think). So why the hell do these people think that it is reasonable and fair to steal other peoples cars when access to their own is fairly easy..... it defies belief....

Some days I think that I would love to be a magistrate or similar - if it had been me, he would have got 25 minimum and hopefully life. Correct me if I am wrong, but the last time I checked it was actually illegal to run someone over.... by the signs of this sentence it is actually not a bad crime after all....

Cheers,

Paul

P.S. one final comment though, we dont know the full details involved here. The scrote did plead guilty and we dont know if he turned himself in etc.... not that this should make any difference in my view.
