Stockport at it again

After the other weeks 'Balance your needle on 30' b*llocks, they are at it again.

I actually saw this in todays Mail, but heres an online version:

I pity anyone living in that area...always nice to know tax money is being spent wisely. As Einstein said, there are only two things that are infinite; the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the latter. Pity most of them seem to end up working for local authorities, particularly anything to do with roads.

The last really great thing that was done in Stockport was the Viaduct. Not that it was actually a great visionary project because it had to be extended a few years later(extensions are the symbol of tiny little minds). The real achievement was that it was paid for by private investors and if you wanted to use it for your train you had to let your train stop there (good visionary thinking). Since then Stockport had adopted a non participatory role in the development of the human race. A bit like the smellies really. 70 years debating the position of the bypass. Fighting shy of the M60 extension for years. Last to abolish the Aulderman system.

So when given the opportunity to explore the outer reaches of stupidity. Stockport grabs it with both hands and indeed pushes the envelope beyond where stupid man has gone before.

This was on the Northwest TV news this morning as well, absolutely f#cking ridiculous. Stockports roads are the worst in the north of England and they are happy to waste money like this. AAAARRRGGGHHHH!!!

My wife works for Stockport Council, and believe me there are many even more ridiculous non traffic-related wasting of money there.
