More surveys, more statistics, more performance targets, more red tape, more speed cameras, more charges, more licences lost. A motorists' charter sounds like a good idea, but we all know how this anti-human control-freak government would pervert it to their own means. Keep Bureaucracy Off The Roads!

Oh no!

Regulation, bl**dy regulation. Is that all this country can offer in answer to a pickle?

I have to own up to working in a regulated business (I am effectively paid by the business to manage the risk of the regulator stopping us from breathing) and so, in a funny sense, I should welcome regulation. But really all we see is the ancient and not-so-noble art of seeing bureaucratic-snivelservant-types getting so far up their own a**e that they've less chance of getting out alive than Myra Hindley.

Oooo - don't get me started

I think the point was supposed to be that it would be an 'independent' body or person.. I heard the expression 'Roads Czar' used on Radio 4 - well we know how much heed this bunch of know-alls gave to their Drugs Czar...

So there's no point.. anyway, they'd probably appoint someone like that fruitcake Brunstrom from the North Wales Constabulary.

Still, what it's shown is that if they appoint someone, they'll be able to string everyone along at least until after the next election..

So thanks, RAC Foundation, for providing this bloody government with a way to get off scott-free on motoring issues for another few years...
