Wiesmann is going to put their GT prototype on display at Essen Motorshow.

It's fitted with a BMW 4.4 V8 and boosts 333PS with only 1,190kgs

I saw a couple of convertibles in Nurburg last september. Nice looking retro styled motors.

The rear 3/4 view is interesting
I'm not really sure of these really wide rear wheel arches but on the whole it looks VERY good.

and a MK1 GT6 and a Harington Alpine

Love the bonnet vents though, very Aston Martin / Cobra

Yes, this is what the world needs, curvy, sexy lines, IMO that car really is gorgeous, I love it, I'd go as far to say as I may even contemplate robbing a bank to buy one (not that I'd ever do that of course).

I wish more manufacturers would bring out cars like this, as fatboy said it's a cross between an E-Type and a Z8, I would even go as far as to say I see a hint of cobra in there too.

Good Stuff!

Edited to add the fact that incorrigible beat me to it with the Cobra bit.

I can really see what you mean, the side panels, complete with vents, looks very Aston Martin. How much? Then I can start saving some pennies

I dunno about the GT's price, but roadsters (BMW straight six) went away for €80k-ish.

Found some more pics of the GT at 24h Nürburgring

Bodo, do they have an internet site ? There are so many requests and a good voice on here, I think they should know that. I always fancied the roadster for a long time. Actually, since there was one driving around in Aachen some four years ago. The new Coupe is nice and I'm looking forward to seeing it in flesh in Essen next weekend. The prepared 24Hour car at the Ring did get some impressive press. Isn't that something every man seeks: Sexy outside and reliable inside. I didn't find a girl yet who can offer that... at least not at 80.ooo Euros per life.

I'd call that "the German TVR"

Yes, Hansgerd, it's indeed a positive feedback.

their site can be accessed via www.wiesmann-auto-sport.de/
text in German only, but lots of information about their Roadster.
I've also seen more than a dozen used Roadsters at http://uk.mobile.de

I have put two images online:

The light arrangements/styling actually look very similar to Cerbera's So it's not far from a German TVR, Thom
However, I wonder why they don't have an English website for their clearly English-inspired car

Well, I wasn't especially refering to the lights actually (by the way I really dislike the Tuscan-style front lights layout on the Cerb , IMO they should have stuck to the original design)

But the overall shape of the Wiesmann is really superb: hood going back to the rear end like these of the Tuscan R and the T350C
