anti car car forum
Discussion
please someone come and help me! in the motley fool (financial site I visit) theres an OT car room, but they just seem against cars!! can you join in and redirect the bias into car loving??
eg - a mail re topgear:

First off - I enjoy it, it's good fun. JC's tongue-in-cheek rebel stance
is quite appealing - I can't imagine he actually means alot of what he says. But, grannies doing donuts? Fastest Faith? Celebs driving the arse
off a patently unsuitable car? What message is it sending - what will the
NovaBoys (..or me!)take from this?
Then the 'Road' tests - recently on the IoW, JC & co in school-boy smirk
mode were driving (I think) an AM & Jag, comparing notes. Are they really only testing them up to 60mph (the roads looked like unrestricted non-duals
to me) - if so what sort (or use) was the road test - if not i.e. 60+
- well then they're breaking the law. Does the Beeb think that's cool?
Oh, finally - what has TG got against deisels - apart from (for some ears)
a duff engine note, deisels seem superior in every way for real-world
performance & economy. Mway driving with deisel torgue is fun & safe,
BHP-type performance only entertains Novites at traffic grand prix &
those who think the sound is important.
Perhaps they should rename it Top Nova
cheers

What a "SAD" WR. There’s probably a good reason why this F
G numpty drives a diesel and not a decent petrol car, and that is the anorak is too busy at the weekends, out train spotting!

Quite. And if he's such a fan of diesel, why can't he even spell it properly?
actually, I drive a diesel car.. and have to agree with that flexibility comment. Most "family" 1.8 petrol car engines are gutless compared to a 2.0TDI.
Anyway, what I save on the dull commute to work (where cars don't often go over 80mph), goes in the bike.. and that only gets 29mph.
But I won't have people knocking cars, so may have to take a visit.

PetrolFan,
I have reported your post as abusive and unnecessary. I trust the TMF will remove it.

you got pulled....
I did try to log on but couldn't as they needed a reply from my ficticious e-mail address of "foaming@gash.com"

Carl, get yourself a faster bike mate - my old moped could best that 25 years ago![]()
But I am very relaxed when getting 29mph
... The Thunder Ace & R1 I only used to get 22mpg when "on a mission". And not a track in sight. Ooops.
This may mean nothing to anyone not familiar with Fireman Sam, but because of the way Trevor (yellow Manta 400?) has used uppercase, all I can hear in my head when I read these posts is John Alderton screaming "Trevore!" in a dodgy Welsh/Italian accent.
TreVoR400 is the user name they just don't get. Own up - who is it? I'm just about to post using "ThisrtyV8"...
