So finally were going to get some action on the roadbuilding front.
4 lanes each side on the M6 and 4 lanes each side on the M1.
Joy of joys!
Predictably, the anti-car lobby had to put their two penn'orth of doom and gloom in.
The usual bullshit about "public transport, blah, blah.....motorists out of cars..blah, blah, blah".
Not happy with 11 billion to be spent on the railways, they want the money to be siphoned from motorists yet again.
Greedy shitbirds.
Transport 2000 bc (..before cars) want nothing less than the total elimination of private motor vehicles from the roads. Too bad.
Looks like maybe, just maybe, the situation is turning around.
As i see it, motorists have the ability to be THE most potent force against imposed stupid policies of government.
All we need to do is get organised.
Really has made my day to see them all whining about it.
Message to the "antis" is TOUGH ON YOU!

I agree that it is maybe starting to turn around. 2bn to save 28bn is hardly a difficult judgement to make. The smellies however, are unfortunately a lot like assylem seekers in that they will try and try and try to get the car off the road / get to England for free handouts. I fear it is time the motorists revolutionary party was born and the first statement in the manifesto should be about tax. Tax the smellies at 100% with no personal allowance. That should wipe the smile of Michael Palins face.

Am I the only one who thinks this, or is it very much the case that if we had the best public transport in the world people would still much prefer their cars and there would be little difference.
What these lentlists seem to ignore, is the fact that a load of cars going nowhere with their engines running is the worst situation possible, hence bigger roads are required.
And all this more roads = more cars - 8ollocks!
As if Mrs. Joe Numpty says to Mr Joe Numpty: Ooh they've put new lanes on the M4 let's buy that Micra we've always promised ourselves. NO! She frikkin doesn't!
Eeh Gads!
Ahem, anyway its friday afternoon, now where's my chill pill.
