BMW Recall notice

a) The permenantly fused-on foglight?
But surely that recall should be for all Fords, Saxo's, 106's, and Clio's as well.
BTW I drive a BMW (without the fog lights on, 'cause I don't think they are bright enough - need at least 1000w) and I can't get into the inside lane because the Drive-Assist™ doesn't like the tramlines caused by trucks and lesser cars

You don't need indicators when you only use one lane, stupid
Also if we decide to turn and you are behind, then surely you can see us turning, hence it is your problem if you do not anticipate this

How releived am I that I resisted the X5 and bought a (proper 4x4) Range Rover on Saturday.
And it has fully functioning mirrors, steering, and switch on/offable fog lamps!
Edited to add: It's nice to hear a reliability topic that's not related to TVR.

I presume you read this lot before you did??? here - all 11 of them!!! Oh - it happens to include an ABS failure and steering failure recall
RR's have had their fair share of recalls (as has pretty much every car)

Nah - that's AQS - Anti Queuing System

double 'yawn' - no it hasn't - my Disco has never had a recall!!
- mind u it is overengineered to hell -180k in 4 years never let me down. Oh yes, last year had to tow horsebox out of field for X5 owner who couldn't manage the conditions
Yep the X5 can whoop the arse off the Disco on the motorway but there again didn't buy the Disco for that!!

No, but thanks for the info! Having scanned the list, I'm releived to see that my car (late 2000) doesn;t apply to many of them. So either they'd figured out how to build RRs properly by then, or the faults/recalls haven't yet appeared.
Clanger - call me a jingoistic biggot if you will, but I do get immense satisfaction from buying British made cars, especially when (like the RR or Griff) they are some of the best vehicles in their class. Added to that, the '2nd generation' (as LR now like to refer to them) are secondhand bargains IMHO at the moment (and I couldn;t possibly afford a new one!) especially compared to X5 prices.
That said, I was very tempted by the X5 as it is, for most people, a very good compromise between 4x4 and performance.
