Does anyone have any ideas why the police have decided to do a census (stopping random cars, and asking questions about your journey and the frquency that you take it) at rush hour on what is shaping up to be the hottest day of the year so far!?

My usual journey along the A130/127 that usually takes 25mins, ended up taking 1.5hrs (that's 6mph average!). And that's only because I managed to finally get off the A127 and take a back road, otherwise it would've been at least 2hrs... My girlfriend travelled the other way down the A127 and said the traffic was backed up at least 5miles!

Finally got to work an hour after expected, missing a meeting and shirt stuck to my back. Working on contract has also meant that I've lost an hours pay.

Since I've been in, I have heard from colleagues that they've been hitting other roads in the area over the last week or so.

Why the sudden interest? Is there something in particular they're looking for? Is gathering this information what they have justified ANPRS for?

Rant over, better catch up with some work...
