Professor Begg is a ****witted anti car zealot elected by no-one who is now complaining because the relatively sane politicians are now rejecting the teachings of his team. All of whom are certifiable. This particular piece of moronic play science is based on the notion that if you build a new road you increase kengestion by 20%. This of course is true if you include in the research every housing estate alongside motorways and other roads. The facts are that when you build new trunk roads they relieve traffic. When you build 1000 houses in the middle of greenbelt the number of cars increases by anything up to 200000% ergo this is shite science and can be seen to be so by all but the terminally bewildered. (A medical analogy would be to classify all injections as the same as stabbings and claim injections increased the chances of death in patients by 20%)

Panorama used to be the last word in journalistic excellence. Since the dismissal of most of the senior male programme makers, the BBC has gone into a decline from which it will hopefully never recover. The next government will surely invoke its charter. I no longer pay a licence fee and only watch TV at friends and relatives because I refuse to support the anti car lobbies best friends.

Even if you don't like the sandalista greenmonkey BBC any more at least Panorama proved that labour is NOT keeping it's promises. As for Begg he beggars belief!!!
Especially as congestion is DOWN by 100000 (yes ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND) cars in London since 1970 (their own figures FFS!), journey time has increased by 17% due to Scameras, road calming(?) measures, traffic blocking lights, yellowcapscum, and general FCUK-UPS by these labour scrotes!!!!!! and their nanny state commie barsteward RedKen, who is being used t push through communistic measures which the govt can then deny responsability for........ Time for a REVOLUTION!!! Get a million cars into London on the edge of the CC zone on a weekday and block every crossing and see how RedKen likes that!!!!! Hope he's executed shortly and his extortion scameras blown up!!!!

Yeah I agree with all of your post except this bit. For most of the period you describe both labour and conservative shared office. I think this is really non political. I suggest maybe focussing on Friends of the Earth "Enemies of the people" and the general drug taking population may get nearer the mark. Just a thought, not really a criticism.
