IMPORTING A USED CAR FROM HOLLAND?
Discussion
Imported my Land rover 5 yeras ago..dead and I mean dead simple. But my experience in with new.
certificate of conformity required
temporary plates for driving to the UK address
insurance is a hassle as direct line would not cover me until it arrived on UK soil. dealer sorted with his insurance for trip to the port
In the UK take it to the registration office to get the UK reg no. You will need cert of conform, fee, UK insurance docs, receipt(?? well it was 5 yrs ago).
Take the uk reg number to a plate maker and attach to the car...drive it....
you will also need to pay UK VAT. do this when requested and then send proof of payment to Netherlands otherwise you will get a bill from them (it will be higher !!)
My Land Rover has not had any problems with Uk dealers not wanting to touch it. Even thought it was only meant to have a 1 year warranty as it was a NL car they still replaced the load space cover under warranty when it was 2.5 years old. No other issues
go for it good luck
