Vomit toddler voids parking fine

A new appeal excuse that works

Park at your peril
Park at your peril
A woman was let off a parking ticket in Brighton -- where wardens are notoriously fierce -- after her toddler, 21-month-old Rose, was sick on the way to the car.

She appealed to Brighton council and parking ticket boss let Laurie Ward off the £30 fine but told her: "Please make sure your daughter only vomits within pay and display time."

Laurie, from Brighton, was not amused. She said: "It was an attempt at humour. This is not the way I expect to be treated by a public body." According to the Mirror a spokesman said: "We apologise if any offence was taken."

Often the public complain about inhuman councils and scamera partnerships because they behave like androids. Yet the one occasion the council displays a flicker of humanity and humour, this stupid sour bitch moans about it. Yeeesh, I'm glad I'm not married to it! Can you imagine the problems you'd get for going away on your annual trip to Le Mans.

Sounds like a perfect case for the repeal of double jeopardy.

fair enough, kids can be a pain and give you unexpected delays...as can a million and one things in life...dont come back to the parking meter with only 60seconds left and you have time for unexpected things like kids puking etc.

moody bitch should have said thanks for being let off the fine.

Give her the ticket, and do so in a holy than thou, patronising sort of way. Maybe that would have been more aligned to her expectation.....

This is typical of the whining fecks in this country. They break a law, get a lucky but undeserved break, no doubt fawning and begging in the process, get let off by some sap with a heart and suddenly they're on their self-righteous "I was right, I'm being oppressed, human rights, criticise everyone else" soap box. Next time, feck off!

Thank you gentlemen, this has indeed ben a productive meeting.

I get the feeling her car may be at the top of the parking department hit list. There's probably a bounty on her in the future, something along the lines of 'ticket her car and get a bonus of £5' or something like that. At least, that's what I'd do if I were the parking manager. What a miserable bitch, she's definitely fat and ugly and feeds her kid nik-naks (and that's why he/she/it was sick!) hehe

Perhaps there is another way of reading this ? How about she actually meant that she was pleasantly surprised by her treatment ? We always read "bad" into these sorts of comments and, for me, the fact that it's the Daily Mirror sounds the "it's probably not true" warning bell.

Just a thought.

GPWM

reading it again it is quite ambiguously worded. I guess "council lets woman off ticket, woman says thanks" wouldn't have been a story! but who needs to be fair? goddamn whiney 'ho

You bunch of miserable old farty gits.

Laws and regulations exist not for the sake of the law, but for the benefit of our society.

In general, so what if people are a few minutes late. So frucking what. Its not the end of the world, unless of course you are a cretinous pedant.

She was heading back to her car, and her kid was sick, she was late. Even if her kid was not sick, so what!
These kind of oppressive regulations that fine you for the most minute non-observance need to be frucked right off.

And the guys attempt at humour just illustrates what a bunch of featureless, personality free morons run these schemes.

So where do you draw the line? What if you're the pedant waiting for a damned parking space and waiting for the meters to expire. Why not allow them all 5 or 10 minutes, hell why not let them park there all day and to hell with anyone else who might want the same facility.

assume this is for fun...considering it doesnt seem to contain your normal well thought out arguments

the point wasn't whether or not we all agree with the parking meter thing...but the fact that once someone got let off (and yes, her kid was allegedly sick, but most similar excuses do NOT wash with councils) they still moan sucks. This is an example of why working in government/council/whatever is always a losing job. No doubt you feel that if some right-on decent chaps were running parking schemes it would all go smoothly. Oh, hang on, all the thoughtless c**ts who exist aorund (disabled parking bay users, middle lane hoggers etc etc etc) would be jamming the towns to a standstill because they parked where they felt like.

And then no doubt you'd be sitting here going 'stupid f**king retards who do parking should do a proper f**king job'

I take it then you strongly support the idea of 31mph in a 30mph limit should result in a ticket, 3 points and £60?

After all forget the spirit and intention of the law, and just apply it to the letter eh.
