Since the SL55 is as quick as it is, provides opulent comfort, and allows roofless driving when required, who is going to buy a Vision SLR...?
I was wondering this myself ,if the SL55 has 500bhp what the hell will the SLR have to have , of course the SLR will most likely be much lighter but the price is going to be what £200k £250k , foot , shot , complete this sentance

Well the thought that occurs to me is that someone with the budget for a Vision SLR could instead have an SL55 + a new Porsche or Ferrari (or 2x TVRs!) as well
Mind you in that price range the cost is not the issue; you can have a new 911 + F360 for the cost of a Aston Martin Vantage

I can see Robert 'driving' his Merc:

You are doing 35mph, you pull out to overtake a tourist, you STAND on the accelerator and.... NOTHING.. The computer interprets your input, the traction control (even on a clear dry day says "No chance Buster !!" and you crawl past doing 36mph in 3rd gear. Only 5secs later does the system relent and releases 500 BHP as it drops down to 1st.. Too late... Too much... (The Maranello 360 in'Auto' was no different. If only I was brave/rich enough to turn off traction control
I have been fortunate to have the opportunity to drive this car. Even though I don't have much experience driving high end performance cars I consider this car the ride of my life. My high priced attorney Uncle drove down for my brother's graduation and had the lack of judgement to allow myself and my best friend the chance to take it for a spin. Just to give you an idea, imagine the two parking valets from Ferris Bueler's day off. I can't seem to remember the car ever hesitating to accelerate. It had the control and apperance of going 60 when we were doing 120. To say I loved this car is an understatement.
In reference to the tires, I have been informed (although I can't say it was from a 100% trusty source)
that because of the weight of the car and the ft/lbs of tourqe that if the car were allowed to pass 188 the tires would begin to desinigrate. This may be the reason for a strange choice of tires or rims. The governer is set for 155 so I was unable to test this theory
