I reckon this has got to be the strangest looking vehicle I've seen in a long time (if not ever!)...

It's made by a Dutch company, and reckoned to retail for about £??K. You can find more pics here.

Bizarre!

Edited at Bruce's suggestion to remove the price - have a guess at what they're charging (or what you reckon it's worth) - the closest guess wins a weeble.

Is it a bird?
Is it a plane?
No, it the Robin Reliant for the modern era, complete with mid-section 'motorbike' simulation!

The website goes on to say "Finally there is a dynamic tilting sportscar on the market." - am I the only person in the world who hasn't been desperately hankering after a tilting sportscar? Personally I prefer my motor to remain upright at all times. Maybe that's just me....

Who-ever designed this is either a genius or a crack-pot. Personally I don't think I'll be rushing to the shops.....

There was an article in last week's Autocar. Edit out the price from your post Richard and see what people on here think it's worth! I couldn't believe that it cost that much!

And it handles like a pig and isn't that quick either!

Interesting point about construction and use regs - don't headlights have to be at the same height and within fixed distances from the ground? If it is classed as a m/cycle then shouldn't it have a central lightpod? Maybe someone can shed some light on this... OK I'm leaving

Edited to say I've just seen the price

Reminds me of that arcade game Afterburner, but on wheels.

Looks like it should be fun. I'd have guessed £3k-£5k, but from people's reactions ... £25k?

IIRC the car is being manufactured more as a publicity tool than anything else.

Looks like great fun though, even the little dihatsu turbo engine would give it a lot of poke.

The manufacturer has a lot of patents on the tilting system and is trying to hawk it to major manufacturers.

Didnt Mercedes do something similar a few years back? Several similar concepts IIRC including the "carving" and something four wheeled which did something trick with wheel angles.

Ariel made a small leaning trike in the seventies. It was such a sales success that they ended up selling the lot off to Pride and Clarkes at Stockwell who flogged them off for pocket money.

Just saw two Carvers parked up by Moorgate station. Very, very strange.
