Panamera spy pics
Discussion
I didn't know whether to post this here or in Porsche (being a n00b and all), but I decided on here. Anyway, I don't believe these have been posted so here: www.leftlanenews.com/2006/09/19/spied-again-2009-porsche-panamera/
Looks okay, but the wing etc to conceal it are a bit annoying. Enjoy.

It's a lot taller than I expected. I was looking forward to something like Aston's Rapide.
I agree Ted, can't imagine the Aston boys will loose too much sleep over this new porker
I'm not so convinced. This'll be similar weight to a Rapide, and if we assume 450bhp V12 vs ???bhp V8 (probably 450 again for main version), it'll be same ballpark. Dynamics I'd hope would be slightly more involving. OK, Porsche may well do a turbo or 'GT' version (of a GT, how ironic!
) with 500+ horses, which WILL be quicker...but it's gonna be uglier than the Rapide and the Quattroporte!havoc said:

Surely the Panamera has to have 500 bhp or be very light to compete with the M5, E63 AMG and the upcoming RS6. It will have to be a lot cheaper than the Rapide in any case.
Hmmm...maybe. I'd sort of hoped that Porsche would avoid the bhp war, but I don't see they can. IMHO, anything much above 400, even in cars like that, is frankly AMPLE. Beyond that and the laws of physics start fighting back as the car's weight increases.

It looks like a 911 cut in half with a (taller) Quattroporte body shoved in the middle. Are Porsche EVER going to come up with an original design?!?
I cant think of any other cars that look like a 911 cut in half with a Quattraporte body shoved in the middle. So in that respect its very original!
