Racing to Raise Money for Air Ambulances
Discussion
Team Air Ambulance will be racing in Europe's fastest series - the SCSA V8 Trophy, exclusively at the Rockingham Motor Speedway, Corby, Northants.
They will be raising money for all of the vital Air Ambulance charities through ticket sales.
For every ticket sold, the Air Ambulance charities receive £2.
Tickets for the "Thunder Sunday" events cost £15 on the gate, but buy in advance and help raise money for this essential service, and save money!! Online or over the phone, Air Ambulance supporting tickets are £10 each, (plus booking fee of £1, and transaction fee of £2) saving £2 over gate price, and helping keep the "birds in the air".
The generosity of Piston Heads members helped Yorkshire Air Ambulance move closer towards running a second helicopter.
The re-born SCSA V8 Trophy has seen increased interest in competing in the series for 2007, and should see 15 450bhp 170mph cars on the grid for the first meeting. Team Air Ambulance will be one of the new teams on the grid.
The SCSA will be supporting some non-competitive events too - the RAF Spirit Of Adventure shows at Abingdon (Dalton Barracks) May 26th/27th and Balado Park, Kinross, August 25th/26th.
Come along, support the team, support the initiative, the most spectator friendly championship in the UK.
Tickets are £10 plus booking fee (£15 on the day) with under 15’s admitted free.
Tickets are available for April 29th by calling the 24 hour ticket hotline on,
0870 735 5000
and quoting the reference AIR AMBULANCE so we know that you are one of ours

A VERY BIG thankyou to all who bought tickets and came to the first "Thunder Sunday" meeting of the year at Rockingham.
A big thanks to all everyone who made it happen.
There's plenty of time to buy tickets for the next meeting, which is the last weekend in June. Details are in the first message of this thread.
How did Team Air Ambulance do on their first ever race on the big oval?
8th in the first race, and 9th in the second, and as I've never raced on an oval before in my life, I don't consider that too bad!! Certainly not last!! Lots to learn, and we're going the right direction (other than turning left!)
Come on then, get your money out. If you enjoy your motoring, or motorsport, you never know, you may need an Air Ambulance at some time, and since they're funded by charitable donations, not government, let's help them to save lives - regardless of who that person is, where they are coming from or going to, how old or young they may be, or how much money they have in their pocket.
Those of us in Bedfordshire - COME ON!! East of England Air Ambulance are aiming to put a new 'copter in service to cover the county by the autumn. Get yer hands in yer pockets!
