Not sure about this. Encouraging higher driving standards is a good idea, but motivating road safety activists by offering them a prize seems an odd way of improving road safety. Might it not just lead to more ineffective 'traffic calming' measures etc? In my opinion, we have too many of these already.

With any luck the money will motivate people to act who wouldn't have done otherwise.

A little 'thinking outside of the box' could be a good thing, because pretty much all the thoughts so far are a pain in the ass for people like us.
