This has got to be highlighted! There is a thread here:

but I don't think the thread title is obvious enough and that people may pass it by.

Like a bloody fairytale...
'Med' Hughes...
MED!! is that how Meridith likes to be known now (LOL!)
Perhaps he can go there and drown in it.
'Dick' Brunstrom
Well, he's just got the wrong surname
As for his Inspector
'Essi' Ahari ...
(wonder if Dick and Essi have their names at the top of their unmarked car
the Essi sign means unhappy motoring,
the Essi sign means unhappy motoring,
call at the Essi sign and hand in your licence.
Chrise can someone free this country from these *!*!**!

Hidden cameras will no longer mean grey GATSOs that flash to advise you that you may get an NIP through the post.
Hidden cameras could include any of the following and none of them flash:
Unmarked vans
Cameras in cats eyes in the road
Wheelie bins
The first you'll know that you've even exceeded a speed limit will be when the NIP plops through your letter box. If, like me, you cover the same stretches of road several times during a single day, you could go from a clean licence to a ban in one hit as four or more NIPs delivered by Postie hit your doormat together.

I have noticed an unofficial switch to hidden cameras in the south west area. The large yellow gatsos are gradually going and being replaced by smaller 'red speed' cams at the top of tall poles. Some are invisible until it's too late.
Most recently is a pair of Truvelo D cams on a 30 stretch that was a regular 45+++ big dipper type road. Used to be my old route to work. They are very hard to spot and I can see some locals getting a ban. They might drive past 5 or 6 times til they notice them. They are forward facing non flashing infa red ones.
I think the offensive on the motorist is due to go up a gear or two now!

One can argue that:-
1.A highly visible camera is a safety camera
2.An invisible camera is nothing more than a revenue raiser to screw the motorist.
Invisible cameras are a sure sign that they couldn;t care less about road safety. It will mean people still speed past faster (and according to the government cause carnage as they do so) and be just as dangerous and risk killing someone (apparantly) but the only difference being they get shafted in the post a week later!! The fact that they still maintained a high speed through the camera means it did nothing for road safety!!!
