The Tweel - new tyre design

Apparently this is old news but I've never come across it until now. Has anyone heard of this before or seen one yet?

Michelin ran tests in 2005 IIRC, not heard anything about it since.

It looks startlingly similar to the lunar rover wheel, and not dissimilar to the mars rovers' wheel design.

according to the wikipedia entry, the tweel should be ready by ... 2016.
