Gemballa Mirage GT

Limited series of 25 individually designed cars

If the limited run of around 1380 Porsche Carrera GTs was not exclusive enough for you, German customising specialists Gemballa have created the Mirage GT. Not only are they limiting the run to 25 cars, but each car will come in its own individual colour specified by the customer.

The Carrerra GT engine – a 5.7 litre V10 – has also been tuned adding a further 40bhp to create 652bhp and a further 20Nm more torque; decreasing the time the car will hit 62mph by 0.1 seconds. On the exhaust side, the tail pipes have doubled from the standard two, placing the extra pipes where the reversing and fog light use to be, which have now been moved to below the rear diffuser.

The German tinkers have also played further with the outside of the car with the addition of the Gemballa Aero-Concept. This replaces the bonnet, adds new air intakes in the front spoiler, new side skirts with extra cooling vents for the rear brakes, and a new rear wing. The Aero-Concept has been designed to create the extra cooling for a power upgrade in development pushing the car to 800bhp.

If you want one of these cars you better hurry as they only have 14 left to convert, though get saving as the price is expected to be around £190,000 for the comprehensive conversion.

£190k sounds cheap - assuming the price is for the whole car and not the conversion alone. Weren't CGT's around the £320k mark new?

I believe it is 190k for the Conversion. The car has to be supplied by the customer.

Also, I thought the Gemballa Mirage had been around for a few years now? I know a few people in Dubai have them.

800bhp upgrade? Pah! They were claiming in 911&PW that they wanted 1000+bhp to put it up with the Veyron.

Stick on some Weber carbs and polythene mudflaps, thats good for an extra 400bhp.

£4750 per bhp ... makes the max power style halfords "sports exhaust" or "induction kit" for 2 extra bhp look like a bargain.

Correct, this is for the kit and the spray, making for a £500k+ chav machine.

I'd still have one

Yeah, but you're forgetting you can order it in ANY colour you want, making it much better value...

This is such a waste of one of the most beautiful cars ever made...

I'm sure it would have been much different if Ruf offered a conversion for the CGT!

The GT looks so much better with roof on, I wonder if we will ever see a similar design by Porsche Motorsport in order for them to enter the GT1 class of motorsport. Lets face it the ALMS could do with it.

Just what I thought - remembering this.
Must be a slow day that we need to rehash last year's news.

Not the original one and from the back it looked a mess. The Gemballa roof definitely looks better as it has the scoop and seems to be more rounded.

I can just see the situation where two customers want it in the same colour...

Ruins it for everyone!

The news has gone to pot recently.
